Thessaloniki and Northern Macedonia "Jantien and Mike's travel
By the eruption of the Icelandic Eyjafjallajökull (the who?) Volcano was scheduled from Dusseldorf to Thessaloniki, a few days before downflow we were to fly suspended. A day before we were going we got the news that the flight on Friday 24 April went anyway.
At the end of the afternoon we landed in Thessaloniki and we went to the hotel to go to sleep. The next day we started with a nice breakfast (see photo) downflow of puff pastry, pastry cream, cocoa and powdered sugar. With a full stomach, downflow we made a round through the old town, where we have a beautiful Orthodox church, downflow an old mosque and some old relics have visited. At the end of the afternoon, our train to Skopje, downflow capital of Macedonia.
The train was two hours delayed, so we only arrived at 22:00 in Skopje. We had taken a taxi to a cheap hosteltje (with TV). The first full day in Skopje we tasted some atmosphere of the city. There were surprisingly many Dutch beers on sale.
The second day in Skopje, we went looking for more information on walks and attractions. The tourist information would be open, but they had that day not much. We therefore went to a mountain ring club, where we were given a good explanation of the possibility for walks in the country. We also have a number of Sasho who received us to the large cross (Mt Vodno) was run. We were at the cross in the mountain hut to sleep especially for us another night extra remained open. What a hospitality!
The next day we walked to Matka. A lovely walk with the two of us, we saw a strange way beast resembling a cross between downflow a grasshopper and a walking stick. When we finished downflow the walk we took the bus towards Skopje. In Skopje we could ride with Josho to Tetovo.
At the invitation of Josho and Simon are we to Popova Sapka gone where we have made a draw. We have a summit of 2398 meters (Flat) climbed the road and saw a group of (wild) mountain goats and five adders in the snow. On the way back we dined together at a restaurant this great day even better exit.
