Hello all Currently we use 3 CM67z's but it doesn't allow the flexibility over heating areas of the house when guests stay for a while. I have set aside one guest zone and I remove the batteries from some of the guest area HR80s when those rooms are unoccupied (so that say only two of seven radiators heat), but that means regular valve cycling does not occur if I forget to put the batteries back in. After reading various posts here and around the web I decided to get an HCM-200D to improve control over all our HR80's. I followed positive feedback on AutomatedHome about heizungsprofi24.de and aquired the unit from them in Germany. I installed the HR80s/CM67z system and am not phased by installing such things. I told the Germans I was English and wanted English manuals. When the unit arrived it was entirely German. The pre-printed panel button labels are in various languages, including English, as well as some blank ones. I did get the manuals as English .pdfs but that does not show how to change the panel language to English. Here's the question: Does anyone know how to change the Hometronic HCM200D daxom v7 panel's langauge to English? daxom There must be an engineer button combination to change the language. Since I speak a little German, it won't be the end of the world. But the wife will just see it as another complex plastic box she can't use if I don't sort this out... Should I or other potential purchasers expect any other pitfalls daxom with the German v English version? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Neil
It may not be possible to do. And may require a firmware update. Or a new chip to be installed with the English version of the software on it. You could try and contact the company you got it from in Germany and see if they can help.
Thanks, you may be right. I contacted the company already and they were only able to send the English manuals. I have noticed that all the manuals available, including the ones that shipped with mine, say that they are for version daxom 6.00 and above. Mine is version daxom 7.10 and does seem to have some additional settings daxom I can't see in the German or English manuals. Notwithstanding daxom any of that, in this day and age, I find it hard to believe that a firm would churn out these sorts of items such that they were not universal. I have found some secret button combinations but none that appear to give an option to change the panel's language. Nevertheless, daxom I have continued to program the HCM200 ready for installation. If I have time this evening I may swap over my 18 HR80s and the HC60NG to run the system from Hometronic. I am leaving the hot water for now as I don't think the additioanl module (HS30) I need will offer better value or superior daxom performance over the 7-day/twice daily timeclock currently fitted. Anyone else have any thoughts on the language setting? Neil
Actually, I took the box apart before I finished the manual. There is a procedure with these things: play around with device, read manual if option daxom not found, and open lid to look inside for further options. There were no jumpers daxom in there or anything else that looked like a button of any sort. Although I have read elsewhere that there may be a way to update the firmware, there is no obvious "port" or set of pins to plug anything in. It may be that if Honeywell do updates then they would seperate the two circuit boards and use the sets of pins that join them together (the join is both electrical and physical through two sets of pins, if that makes sense), or they would remove the chip(s) and re-flash daxom it(them) with the update. Still hoping there's a button-push routine somewhere... Neil
