I am not familiar with your stove,

Thank,s

to the help from this forum I found out that the air setting was to high. The setting is now set at 3 with much better crc lennox results. I have the hopper set to the higher position which I believe the manual recommends for pea coal . In the early morning the burn is barely visible as it is mostly burning in the hopper. Is this considered normal, and if not what may be the problem ? Thanks again for the great help on this forum . steffy New Member   crc lennox Posts: crc lennox 14 Joined: Fri Dec 18, 2009 9:02 am Stove/Furnace Make: surdiac Stove/Furnace Model: baronet 720
I am not familiar with your stove,

but mine has a hopper as well and the coal does not burn in the hopper. Just below it. I would think that if it is burning

in the hopper it would have to be exhausting out the top of the hopper. Not a good thing. Make sure you have CO detectors working. 9mmruger Member   Posts: 76 Joined: Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:18 am Location: St. Joe County, Southwest, Michigan Stove/Furnace Make: Hitzer Stove/Furnace Model: 30-95

I do have a 5 inch stack because a 6 inch would not fit thru the area where the cast iron damper came out . Ithought that the 5 inch stack may be the problem because the manual said that there was a reducer from 5 inch to 6 inch for the stack. steffy crc lennox New Member   Posts: 14 Joined: Fri Dec 18, 2009 9:02 am Stove/Furnace Make: surdiac Stove/Furnace Model: baronet 720
make sure you pack around the 5" by the damper with insulation,so you don't loose your draft and heat up the chimney good luck jersey Member   Posts: 119 Joined: Tue Dec 11, 2007 8:51 am Location: holland twp nj Stove/Furnace Make: warm morning 400 Stove/Furnace Model: warm morning 400
I have the same stove with 5 inch pipe. I run the air dial between 2 and 3. I shake it and fill it twice a day but if I miss one it's not a big deal. I can almost always see a nice red bed of coal. it NEVER burns in the hopper. It will burn up to the hopper but not in it. Is your gasket on the top lid where you fill it good?
