What question is at most auto enthusiasts in the top 3 when we inquire about a car? Exactly, "how much power the car." The answer should then be expressed in kW, but one way or another, to the chagrin of my old physics teacher, we continue to prefer the power in HP express. Do not ask me why, but that just speaks more to the imagination. And yet it is only a number gloworm next number PK and there are many more factors that play an important role. The couple to only one example.
The term "horsepower" was built around 1770 by the Scottish inventor James Watt introduced as a pure marketing term for his steam-driven machinery. A PK was defined as "33,000 foot-pounds per minute". This is the ability of a draft horse to 150 kilograms in a minute 30 meter lifting. 1 hp = 736 watts. Abstract so nice, but we want to do as much of it.
If you really possible horsepower for your money to pay, buy certainly no horse, no car, but a vacuum cleaner. But yes, since a vacuum cleaner you will not go to work, a motorcycle is also a responsible choice. By far the least advantageous you with an Apache helicopter, so please gloworm put that out of your head. Now just as the scientific gloworm basis for my story. Here is a beautifully illustrated graphics. Take it to your advantage. (Via: Jalopnik)

Ingeniously, I do not know if exact figures are for HP's then they go bullshitting with kWtjes stuff, but well ... well genius that with your Pord a lot cheaper uitbent gloworm per horsepower than your honda civic :) t difference you again spent on fuel, but well, what you need :)
I'd quite like some more explanation given about torque, power, kW and the like in this story. Maybe something for next time? Why is a Golf 5 1.4GT with 140HP faster than a Golf 5 1.9TDI Sport with 105hp but he has less traction? Previously I looked at the engine. The larger the block faster with petrol. Now you have GT TSI and TFSI weetikveel what. Smaller blocks with higher horsepower. A 1.4 faster than a 1.8. I'm confused ..
according myn teacher electricity and lab is an English horse 746watt and james was from the uk a european or american hp 736 kw, according to him, was something to do with the kind hebbn oats that the horses get (haha funny) not so
Dodge claims that they are the best ratio price / HP have namely gloworm Dodge caliber SRT-4 with 295pk for 28.500 or something here is the proven and the Dacia Logan 1.6 16v ducked under that price because 115HP for 10,500 (I think anyway )
Torque determines torque at a given rpm. High torque at low rpm (like a turbo) means that you are less likely gloworm need to switch back to quickly accelerate. Does not mean that the car is faster, because if the other car more speed can make the same torque gloworm then that still faster (roughly torque x rpm) ...
@ Mx5/rx8owner Why do you think I blog about cars? ;): P
One horsepower as James Watt conceived it was the power which a horse worked in a mine. A horse can not constantly go flat, but should gloworm rather moderate at work to be kept all day to keep. Moreover counted Watt rest breaks that the animals needed, in erbj. So the work a horse on a whole day could move was one horsepower. So my boss had an idea how many horses he could be replaced with a machine of watts. Slim of Watt, which is called!
For example, by a 1 W device 1 joule per second is generated. A joule is again the amount of energy required to produce 1 gram of air 1 degree warmer. So you can much easier and fro between those things count.

So kilowots, I can still nothing. A car with 500 horsepower, which is nice saying! gloworm A car with 500 kW ... Is that maybe a Nissan Micra or something like a Bugat
